Atlanta Real Estate Market Update

First Multiple Listing Service FMLS released the most current Atlanta
real estate market statistics
today for greater metro Atlanta
real estate today.
While they posted the news as a good news bad news story, I am not
seeing a lot of positive news in it. Sales are up marginally
from last August for detached single family Atlanta
homes, and also for attached
homes Atlanta
Condos and Atlanta
town homes. There were
681
sales for attached homes for the month of August that is a 5% increase
over last August. Single family detached home sales rose to 3,768 sales vs. 3,737 last
August. When you consider
that $241,761
was the price of an average single family detached Atlanta
homes in August of 2008,
and the average sales price of
$203,041 in August of 2009...I
am having a hard time getting excited over a 16%
drop in Atlanta home values YTD.
