Subdivision Names We'd Like to See | Subdivision Names for Trying Times

I think in the best of times all of in real estate look at subdivision names, and ask ourselves who thought of that one!  The names are so far fetched that no one on a salary should have ever been paid to think them up!  If we are on a caravan there is a lot of great belly laughs as agents joke around about some names they could have used!  I was searching the Internet this evening and actually found there are random name generators that will make up and generate random subdivision names.  It was a lot of fun seeing them, and then I added a few of my own make believe subdivision signs.

Jim, I sell by the lake and my least favorite name is Hawg Heaven. It's as bad as it sounds!! Passing it always makes me smile though. People actually live there! Thanks for the humor. Deb

Jim,

I like Hawg Heaven! With all the new homes and new home communities put up in these past few years I have also witnessed many strange names for subdivisions, communities and mostly street names.

Actually, the area where Philips Arena stands today was known unofficially as "Hobo Hollow" in the early part of the 20th century.  It was a derisive modification of "Happy Hollow" which was the mill town for the Exposition Cotton Mill just north there.

Mike Lewis San Diego Realtor (Listing Book San Diego)  When we are in the business, they often strike me funny when I hear them.  Like what were they thinking?

Rob - Thank you for the update.  I love when I have an historic perspective on a part of town or state.
