ActiveRain Outside Blogs? Has Anyone Heard About this?

I came across this Blog this morning for the first time that brought up the subject of ActiveRain introducing outside Blogs!  I would refer to them as branded sites with my own domain name!  I love the idea!  I was surprised that I've not heard about it before on ActiveRain.Com!  Has anyone read about this or know any information?  If so I would love to hear about it!   The Blog was written by Joel Burslem on Tuesday, December 4, 2007  "ActiveRain Launches Outside Blogs"

Personally I would like to have my own branded domain on a familiar platform and not have to leave such a great community!  I would have to know what would the price be, and what are the terms?

PLEASE SHARE THOUGHTS AND INFO IF ANY!

Jim, I'm in Beta Testing group and I don't believe it's all been finalized as of yet. There are still a few bugs to work out. Several templates from which to choose and your posts (which you chose) move seamlessly over to the outside blog. I like it because the comments transfer as well. I don't think prices have been established yet.

If you have interest in viewing mine it's maplevalleyblog.com (feel free to delete comment after you read)

Hi Jim-I am testing it right now and I love it...looks funny in internet explorer but looks hot in modzilla.  http://midori.activerain.com/.  I did not attach a domain just yet...still waiting for the kinks to be ironed out.  You can customize the header and very simple to manuever!

WOW!  I've been wondering about this too - I'm parked to see what you find!

very interesting...and it should be worth looking at if not just for the great placement they will have.

Jim, thanks for the heads up. I would also be interested & will followup up to see what's going on. I personally have not heard a thing before reading your blog.

Just checked on Midori's site & don't get it. It's blank pretty much except for a header & side bar.

Hi Lyn-its still in testing...if you read my comment it looks lousy in IE but in Modzilla a beauty!  If you just scroll down you can see how it looks the posts start way below!

Jim, glad you posted this.  I think about the announced outside blogs from time to time and then figure there will be a big hoopla when it happens.

Hey, Midori, I hope they can fix that for you.  It does look good once you scroll down.

Colleen, yours looks great.

Looks like an interesting concept.  Guess I'll check into it once they get the bugs worked out.

Jim, There was a post, I think from Bob Stewart or Jonathan Washburn quite awhile back where they were looking for people who wanted to Beta test an Active Rain outside blog. I guess, from these remarks, they are still testing. I was under the impression, that, after the testing was completed, we would be offered a chance to have an additional blog, assumably for a fee.

I've been waiting for them to release from testing. I've put off my outside blog until then.

Still fairly new to the blogging scene, but like the concept of the outside blog.  Maintaining the active rain community benefits with the branding opportunity from an independent site would seem to be a winning combo
