An Active Rain Blgg that I wrote July 1, 2008 entitled "PVC or Poly Farms - Do You Know What They Are? You Should!" earned me a call today from our local WSB-TV News station reporter Manuel Bojorquez. He requested an interview to explain what's happening on our area in Gwinnett new homes subdivisions where new home construction has come to a screeching halt. Once active new homes communities have now given way to weeds, and green pipes on undeveloped lots. Construction activity has ceased, and owners onf homes in those subdiviions are at a loss to sell, and buyers fears are making them reluctant to buy. It is noticeable all through out the Atlanta area where new construction has always been a part of our lives and livelihoods. The news interview will air shortly, and I may be able to obtain a video and will post that on-line once I receive it. Once again, I love the power of Active Rain!

Isn't it amazing how long these posts stay in front of the public? Great news! Can't wait to read all about it.

Congrats! Blogging does pay.
Kay Van Kampen, Broker, Springfield Missouri Real Estate (RE/MAX Solutions) It is always a surprise but it held the position on the Internet since I wrote it.
Ann Heitland, Associate Broker, CRS, GRI , ABR ~ Flagstaff Real Estate/Community (Team Heitland at RE/MAX Peak Properties) Several of the last interviews I have had with the news or papers have really done much more for my PR and visibility than all the advertising combined. I have run into friends of mine that either read a local article in the newspaper or TV. They all gave a thumbs up, and the phones rang!
Jim...
I remember that post quite well, because I had never heard the expression "poly farm" before that! Congrats on getting noticed, isn't all of this exposure great?
Richard Weisser Coweta Fayette Real Estate ERA United Realty Thanks Richard. Actually the reporter used the search terms "PVC" and "Poly Farm!" I love Active Rain!
Way to go Jim...straighten your tie, film at 11.
Andrew Mooers | Northern Maine Real Estate / Aroostook County Broker (MOOERS REALTY) Exactly! LOL! I straightened it a few times before....:)
Jim,
I love hearing AR stories like this! Half the time I get so into reading the blogs for the viewpoints, I forget that it is a great resource for the public to find us. Can't wait to see the interview!
Jen Olson (First Weber Group Realtors) It will be interesting to see what made it after editing. The only question that sort of caught me off guard...was when I was asked 'Have you ever seen it this bad?" My thoughts were "No, I'm only 54 years old!"
That's great news Jim, You are a great writer and it's nice that you have been recognized!
Tina Maraj Shah Fullerton Realtor (RE/MAX North Orange County) Thank you so much Tina. I did not even expect any call on that blog. I thought it was more informative to agents.
LOL!
Jen Olson (First Weber Group Realtors) Funny but true! :)
